1. Forsaking the straight way, they have gone astray, following the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness

2. It was these who caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to act unfaithfully against Jehovah in the matter of Peor, so that the plague came upon the assembly of Jehovah.

3. And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.

4. Balaam also the son of Beor， the soothsayer， did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.

5. And Balak said unto Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

25巴勒对巴兰说，你一点不要咒诅他们，也不要为他们祝福。

6. And Balak brought Balaam unto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Jeshimon.

12. And they killed the kings of Midian in addition to the others slain among them: Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the five kings of Midian;also Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

8在所杀的人以外，还杀了米甸的五王，就是以未、利金、苏珥、户珥、利巴，又用刀杀了比珥的儿子巴兰。

13. God met with him, and Balaam said, "I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram.

18. And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me

19. Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.

他们有祸了!因为走了该隐的道路,又为利往巴兰的错谬里直奔,并在可拉的背叛中灭亡了。

20. Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

25. But Yahweh, your God, did not listen to Balaam and turned the curse into a blessing because Yahweh loves you.

但是上主你的天主不但不愿听从巴郎，上主你的天主反而将咒骂变为你的祝福，因为上主你的天主爱你。

26. And in the morning Balak took Balaam up to the high places of Baal, and from there he was able to see the outer limits of the people.

34. For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.

35. 5 because they would not succor you with food and water on your journey after you left Egypt, and because Moab hired Balaam, son of Beor, from Pethor in Aram Naharaim, to curse you;

因为当你们出离埃及时，他们没有带食物和水，在路上前来迎接你们；又因他们从美索不达米亚的培托尔，雇了贝敖尔的儿子巴郎来咒骂你；

36. for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

39. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba-the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.

40. They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian.And they also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.

41. They killed the kings of Midian along with the rest of their slain: Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the five kings of Midian;they also killed Balaam the son of Beor with the sword.

42. Along with the death of the kings and princes, we read of the death of Balaam, the soothsayer, who was killed along with these enemies of Israel.

在被处死的俘囚名单上，我们看到术士巴兰也与以色列的敌人一同被杀。

43. And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

46. But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?

47. Balaam said, "Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.

巴兰对巴勒说:“你在这里为我筑七座坛,又在这里为我预备七只公牛,七只公羊。

48. Balaam answered Balak, "Did I not tell the messengers you sent me,

49. And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

50. And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

51. And Balaam said to Balak, Make me here seven altars and get ready seven oxen and seven male sheep.

52. Then Balaam said to Balak, "Stay here beside your offering while I go aside.Perhaps the LORD will come to meet with me.

53. And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee.

54. Balaam answered the donkey, "You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.

55. Balaam got up in the morning, saddled his donkey and went with the princes of Moab.

巴兰早晨起来,备上驴,和摩押的使臣一同去了。

56. The next morning Balaam got up and said to Balak's princes, "Go back to your own country, for the Lord has refused to let me go with you.

巴兰早晨起来,对巴勒的使臣说:“你们回本地去吧,因为耶和华不容我和你们同去。

57. So in the morning Balaam got up and, making his ass ready, went with the chiefs of Moab.

58. Balaam's donkey sees an angel and takes evasive action to protect Balaam.

巴兰的毛驴看见一位天使便躲避开以保护巴兰.

59. Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not resort to sorcery as at other times, but turned his face toward the desert.

巴兰见耶和华喜欢赐福与以色列,就不像前两次去求法术,却面向旷野。

60. And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

巴兰说、我已经到你这里来了、现在我岂能擅自说甚麽呢．神将甚麽话传给我、我就说甚麽。

61. "Spend the night here," Balaam said to them, "and I will bring you back the answer the LORD gives me." So the Moabite princes stayed with him.

巴兰说，你们今夜在这里住宿，我必照耶和华所晓谕我的回报你们。摩押的使臣就在巴兰那里住下了。

62. Then Balaam said to Balak, Now I have come to you; but have I power to say anything? Only what God puts into my mouth may I say.

巴兰说：我已经到你这里来了！现在我岂能擅自说什麽呢?神将什麽话传给我，我就说什麽。

63. And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out to meet him unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of Arnon, which is in the utmost coast.

巴勒听见巴兰来了，就往摩押京城去迎接他。这城是在边界上，在亚嫩河旁。

64. When Balak heard that Balaam had come, he went out to meet him at the city of Moab, on the border formed by the Arnon, at the extremity of the border.

65. Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!

巴勒对巴兰说:“你向我做的是什麽事呢?我领你来咒诅我的仇敌,不料,你竟为他们祝福。

66. Then Balak said to Balaam, "Come, let me take you to another place. Perhaps it will please God to let you curse them for me from there.

巴勒对巴兰说:“来吧,我领你往别处去,或者上帝喜欢你在那里为我咒诅他们。

67. Then Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take you to another place; it may be that God will let you put a curse on them from there.

巴勒对巴兰说、来罢、我领你往别处去、或者神喜欢你在那里为我咒诅他们。

68. Then Balak said to Balaam, What have you done to me?

巴勒对巴兰说，你向我作的是什么事呢？

69. And Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto thee to call thee?

巴勒对巴兰说，我不是急急地打发人到你那里去召你吗?

70. And Balak said to Balaam, Did I not send to you, requesting you with all my heart to come to me? why did you not come? am I not able to give you a place of honour?

巴勒对巴兰说，我不是急急地打发人到你那里去召你吗？你为何不到我这里来呢？我岂不能使你得尊荣吗？

71. And Balak said unto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I will bring thee unto another place; peradventure it will please God that thou mayest curse me them from thence.

巴勒对巴兰说，来吧，我领你往别处去，或者神喜欢你在那里为我咒诅他们。

72. And Balak did as Balaam said, offering an ox and a male sheep on every altar.

巴勒就照巴兰的话行，在每座坛上献一只公牛，一只公羊。

73. And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered a bullock and a ram on every altar.

巴勒就照着巴兰所说的行了，在每座祭坛上，献上一头公牛和一只公绵羊。

74. And Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, overlooking the wasteland.

巴勒就领巴兰到那下望旷野的毗珥山顶上。

75. Balak did as Balaam said, and the two of them offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

76. Even though you cannot curse them,＂ said Balak to Balaam, ＂at least do not bless them.

80. Then the LORD opened Balaam's eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.

当时,耶和华使巴兰的眼目明亮,他就看见耶和华的使者站在路上,手里有拔出来的刀,巴兰便低头俯伏在地。
