enquirer
noun
语源
  1. Middle English enquere, from Old French enquerre, based on Latin inquirere (based on quaerere 'seek')
用法
  1. Usage guides have traditionally drawn a distinction between enquire and inquire, implying that, in British English at least, enquire is used for general senses of ‘ask’, while inquire is reserved for uses meaning ‘make a formal investigation’. In practice, however, enquire (and enquiry) is more common in British English while inquire (and inquiry) is more common in US English, but otherwise there is no readily discernible distinction in the way the two words are used
